I'm A Sunrise!

I found this at another blog, thought it neat, and decided to try it. Here are my results!

You Are Sunrise

You enjoy living a slow, fulfilling life. You enjoy living every moment, no matter how ordinary.
You are a person of reflection and meditation. You start and end every day by looking inward.
Caring and giving, you enjoy making people happy. You're often cooking for friends or buying them gifts.
All in all, you know how to love life for what it is - not for how it should be.

Jeff is Midnight!

You Are Midnight

You are more than a little eccentric, and you're apt to keep very unusual habits.
Whether you're a nightowl, living in a commune, or taking a vow of silence - you like to experiment with your lifestyle.
Expressing your individuality is important to you, and you often lie awake in bed thinking about the world and your place in it.
You enjoy staying home, but that doesn't mean you're a hermit. You also appreciate quality time with family and close friends.

What Can I Give Him?

This song by Christina Rossetti gives us the answer.

In The Bleak MidWinter
by Christina Rossetti

1. In the bleak midwinter, frost wind made moan,
earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
in the bleak midwinter, long ago.

2. Our God, heaven cannot hold him, nor earth sustain;
heaven and earth shall flee away when he comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
the Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

3. Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
but his mother only, in her maiden bliss,
worshiped the beloved with a kiss.

4. What can I give him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
if I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
yet what I can I give him: give my heart.

What is Occupying Your Time This Christmas Season?

Just a reminder of what occupied Mary's time.

Mary's Song

And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;
As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

Luke 1:46-55 (King James Version)

Of All the Gifts, Which of Them will Remain?

I have started reading a book entitled "The Wonder of Christmas 50 Meditations on the Birth of Christ" by Daniel Partner. I will leave with you today a thought provoking quote. "Maybe the story of the too-full inn is a parable for us in the season of Christmas: Of all the gifts and gatherings that fill your heart this month, which of them will remain when you have returned to dust? Only Jesus Christ really matters." May we take time for Him this Christmas season. Posted by Picasa

The Final Choice!

The final choice for our wannabe yearly Christmas picture. The larger one's family grows the more difficult to get an acceptable picture. Thank you Lyndi for taking our picture. Posted by Picasa

All Dressed Up and No Where to Go!

I thought I would post this picture of Briana. She is wearing a dress I doubt she will wear again as she didn't like the feel of it on her. I guess it was just too much lace, etc. for her. Posted by Picasa

Briana relaxing by the Christmas Tree!

Just a snapshot of Briana relaxing by the Christmas tree.
She is anxiously awaiting Christmas this year. She has had many questions about Santa this year. She would like to know how he gets down the chimney and how he gets out. She also wanted to know where he lived and if he was really real. It is too cute. She has gone on for quite a few days questioning and thinking about how Santa gets down that chimney. I am not exactly sure where she has come up with this info about Santa as this is not something we teach our children. Posted by Picasa

Julissa playing the horn.

Here is a picture of Julissa trying to play the trumpet she pulled off the Christmas tree. She thoroughly enjoyed herself. By staying home over Thanksgiving we were actually able to get our tree up and decorated and a lot of our other Christmas decorations up. Posted by Picasa

Thanksgiving Dinner

This year we spent Thanksgiving at home with just the 7 of us.
In some ways, it was nice not to have to rush here and there and to be able to sit back and enjoy time at home. But we did miss not having family join us for dinner at least.
