A Trip to Moline, IL

This past Wednesday morning Mike, Heidi, my 5 kids, and I headed out for Moline, IL to John Deere Country! We got there in time to see the World Headquarters on Wednesday and then on Thursday we were able to go to the John Deere Pavilion, Gift Shop, and Collector's Center. Later on that day Mike and Heidi toured the Harvest Works and while they we there, we traveled to Iowa for a short visit to a historic home. I will share pictures of that in another post.

Here are three of the eight walking up to John Deere Headquarters!

The Wedding Cake

On my kitchen counter - the wedding cake in progress!

The finished product!
P.S. It is quite obvious when I posted my brain was still not in gear from having been in overload for so long. I did not make the cake, but my sister Holly made the cake at my house!

Dorie - the wedding coordinator

The night before the wedding we had a combo rehearsal dinner/bridal shower due to the fact that all of our family was unable to get together before that time.

Update

We have only 10 days until my youngest sister's wedding so life is extremely busy. After I have had time to recoup from it all, I plan to spend some time updating my blog.

Until then...

Wildflowers!

These flowers have come up again this year under our Thundercloud Plum tree. If anyone knows their name and would like to leave it in the comment box, it would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to my Wonderful Mother!
Today my mother has spent the day at the hospital with my Dad who suffered a stroke yesterday. He is doing much better and has come out of it quite a bit. We would appreciate your prayers for both Dad and Mom as they go through this difficult time. We are thankful to the Lord for how Dad was able to get help and for the fact that my youngest sister was with Mom and Dad for the weekend and has been able to take Mom to and from the hospital and be there as support for both of them. We love you, Mom and Dad, and thank you both for your example, care, and love over the years. We pray that the Lord will bless us with many more years with both of you.
Love,
and Family

Spring Music Recital

Tonight was Briana's first time to play her violin in a recital. She did really well. Curtis and Samuel played piano pieces in the recital as well. Below is a group shot of the kids after the recital was over.

We are very blessed to have a great teacher. She does a great job teaching and working with the kids. Thank you, Miss Alexander!
