Trying out the camera without the flash by using natural lighting through the open door in the entryway. It was a mite chilly as it is only 25 degrees outside right now. Last year I took photos of the kids a month later than this doing a similar thing.

We got a Nikon D40 - a DSLR. I have been debating about whether to keep it or go with something else but at this point I think I am going to stick with it and if I ever learn enough to move up then we will cross that bridge when we come to it. My biggest thing is once you start investing in lenses you are basically locked into that brand. My debate has been between Nikon and Canon. It looks like I will be going with Nikon unless I am persuaded otherwise in short order due to the fact that my alloted amount of time for a return is about up.
