Update on Alex

They believe that he has a virus along with what they think is an allergy induced asthma. They are not labeling him as an asthmatic at this point but are going to put him on Singulair which is a preventative allergy/asthma medication. They have also presribed him an albuterol inhaler just in case we find it necessary before the Singulair kicks in. In looking back through his chart, we found that he had gone in for this same thing last March 21st so they plan to just go ahead next March 1st and get him started on the Singular again in hopes of elimating these initial flare ups that seem to come with spring weather.

Spring Rain and the Creek

As the thunder crashed, the lightning flashed, and the rain came down throughout the night our creek rose up above its banks. It has since receded some throughout the day. If I would have not been in such a hurry to get out the door this morning to a doctor's appointment I would have taken a picture of the creek this morning. As it is one can see some of the wet areas along the bank and get somewhat of an idea about where the water was at one point this morning. We also went from a beautiful seventy some degrees yesterday to a cool forty degrees today.

Alex Not Feeling Well

Alex is not feeling well today. He has been running a slight temp and has a sore throat. He also complains of his chest being hot. So we are going to see the doctor tomorrow to find out what is going on. Last year, I think it may have been around this time of year, they ended up putting him on an allergy/asthma medicine because they thought he might be asthmatic. It seemed to really help him but then he didn't need it through the winter so has been off of it for quite some time. I think maybe the warm weather and being outside quite a bit this week has triggered some sort of allergy response. I don't know for sure but hopefully we will find out tomorrow.
Obviously, he didn't do any school today other than listen to me read one chapter of the book "Little Pear".

I was looking back through old photos and found this charming photo of my sister. This was taken about a week before she got married. I am sure she will "love" me for posting this photo. I sure miss you coming to visit. You definitely live too far away.

Yesterday afternoon Briana and Julissa were sitting in the Office chair looking at a small photo album together. They both love to look at photos.

Briana was putting her Lego people to bed right before she was to go to bed. It seems like this time of the night is when she plays best.

Weekly Art Project

This week's art assignment from The Heart of Harmony was to draw your pet or a pet you would like to have. Since we do not have any pets, Samuel drew this rabbit. I thought he did a really good job.

It's Story Time!

Briana has put dolls and stuffed animals on the couch in order that she might read them a story. Then she wanted me to take a picture of them. So I thought I would share it with you all.

It is a beautiful 63 degrees outside today. Spring is in the air. The kids are out playing in the mud and dirt down by the creek.

It was a busy day today and I didn't get any pictures taken so I thought I would pull one from the archives. Here are some birds that Curtis drew a couple weeks ago and somehow I didn't get them blogged with Samuel's.

We finally got our van back today but only for a short while as it is not finished. They are waiting on some custom moldings for around the wheel well but for now we can drive it until they are ready to finish it. It will be nice to be able to actually go somewhere together in one vehicle. They have had our van since January 29th. It has been a long 5 1/2 weeks.

My two youngest spent quite a bit of time today at the piano just playing and singing their own made up little songs. They were having a great time.

Briana in her new robe and pajamas. I found this robe at Kohls yesterday for around $5.50. It was too good of a deal to pass up. Briana was absolutely thrilled with it and her new pajamas.

I've started giving them a weekly art assignment as assigned on Tuesday each week by Barb at The Heart of Harmony. The boys are really enjoynig it.

Night Shot of Rental Car

Since our van has been in the shop since January 29th, we got a rental car for the weekend in order that we might all be able to go to revival this weekend. Hopefully our van will be ready sometime the beginning of next week. We shall see. It was supposed to be done the middle of this week.
